Why did I decide to self-publish? Why not go with a regular publisher? Fact 2 of 25!

Well from what I understood after looking at all the options for putting my book out was if you were under a publisher you basically sign your rights away. So, for example if I wanted to promote my own book I would have to go to my publisher and ask permission to do some promoting on my own work and if they say no its no. So I said why should I let others make decisions for me and why should I have to answer to someone else, so self-publishing seemed the best way to go for me. #timeofthetestament
