I believe in the power of escapism. It's my belief that there is a limit to the amount of bad news we can take. I think the purpose of the weekend is to not just recharge our bodies, but our minds. It's our chance to refill our mental gas tanks and change our mental oil. It's a part of my process when it's time to change my mental oil and fill my mental gas tank to turn off the engine, but sometimes it's difficult to do. I think that every time we work through our break or work through our lunch, which I think that a lot of us do, that we are trying to fill our gas tank and change our oil with the engine running, which is just as dangerous as doing that in reality with your car. This is why I read. When I read I'm taken away from the realities of life and I give my mind a chance to be free. A chance to be creative, relaxed, shaken up, non constrained, free. Afterwards I feel charged, fulfilled, ready to take on the world again. When I wrote "Time of the Testament" it was for the purpose of providing that escape for other people. I wanted other people to experience that full departure from reality and take a trip in their minds to explore the world in a way that would recharge them. Believe in escapism and read. #timeofthetestament
